Choose Your Beauty Products Wisely

The skin absorbs everything that is put on it. If chemicals reach the blood stream, they can damage your organs. The CDC says that over 13 million workers in the US are exposed to chemicals that the skin can absorb. They warn of the dangers of workplace chemicals. Similar chemicals are found in personal products like skin-care, hair-care, make-up, household cleaning products, etc.

Congress hasn’t updated the federal law to regulate personal care products in over 80 years. Only 11 out of thousands of toxic ingredients are outlawed by the FDA in the US. It is good to choose your brands carefully & check how products are tested because beauty companies are not legally required to test their products before selling them.

Companies are required to label each product’s ingredients, unless they have loopholes. Fragrance formulations are considered trade secrets & the manufacturers do not have to disclose all of their ingredients (chemicals). Is a pretty smelling chemical compilation, that causes harmful health issues, really worth it?

We choose brands carefully that are fully transparent & test their products to make sure that there aren’t any toxic ingredients that the US allows.
